- Select File, then Properties
- Select the Security tab
- Choose the option to Encrypt all document contents except metadata
There are two options available for securing the PDF:
- Require a password to open the document
- Restrict editing and printing of document
You may choose one or both options. Enter a secure password for each option selected, then select OK. You will be prompted to retype the password.
One these changes have been made, save the document and the password will be set for use the next time the document is opened.
