New Computer Power Management Program for University Computers

Physical Plant - Energy Management and IT Services are in the process of implementing a non-disruptive PC Power Management system for University owned laptop and desktop computers (excluding Kendall and Apple Macs at this time) this fall that will reduce the energy consumption of campus computers. The program will detect when a computer in your office, classroom, or lab has not been in use for a period of time and will induce “sleep” mode.

Get Connected to the Ferris Network at iConnect

iConnect, hosted by Student Technology Services (STS), will take place in the IRC August 22nd through August 24th. At iConnect, STS technicians will assist you with connecting your devices to the Ferris network. You will need:
  • The desktop or laptop that needs to be connected
    • Please bring a power cord for laptops
    • Monitors are not needed for desktops
  • A Ferris ID (Bulldog Card)

Ferris State University is now offering Microsoft Office to students for FREE! As long as you’re a current student at Ferris, you’ll be able to use this software for free.

Microsoft Products Available for Employee Home Use

Several Microsoft products are now available for employees to purchase for personal use via the Microsoft Home Use Program. The Microsoft Home Use Program will be the only method to
purchase software for home use through the University. Student Technology Services (STS) will no longer offer software for purchase through their office.

New Technology Purchasing Process

The eHSARF system is no longer being used to submit technology purchase requests using University funds. The new system is accessible through MyFSU, via the MyFSU tab, Login Links channel, Technology Service Portal link.
